Ronson De-Light Beverly

return to automatic pocket lighter index

From the collection of Urban Cummings, this Ronson “Beverly” is silver plated with inset brown leather panels on both sides. Discovered after the first edition of the Ronson book was published, this extremely rare pocket model only appears in the second edition as Figure 368. Its base is marked with U.S. patent number 1290011, the same ferrocerium casting patent referenced on the original Ronson Lighter and some other early De-Light models. Mr. Cummings dates this model to 1929-1930 but has not found the "Beverly" listed in any Ronson advertising or production documents. (EB & UC)
