The Evans Lighter (1927)
Patented in 1927, these earliest models were simply named the Evans Lighter. This type of manual lighter is described as a 'single bar lift arm' and collectors usually refer to these first models as 'Evans lift arms', distincting them from other lighters Evans sold in later years using the same name. i.e. Evans Lift Arm is not a proper name used by the manufacturer but it's a helpful nickname to prevent confusion when discussing this brand. This page gives a general overview of available information (dates, models, sizes, etc.) but you must visit Terry Post's amazing collection of these Evans Lighters to fully appreciate the stunning finishes that were produced.
