Brown & Bigelow

Redilite pocket lighters variations

return to Brown & Bigelow index

The first of several Brown & Bigelow lighters patented by Howard Fischer, the Redilite emulates manual thumbwheel lighters being produced in Europe before and after World War 1. A simple and concise design, B&B produced the Redilite with myriad tubular casing shapes, base materials and finishes which were frequently imprinted with advertising. Brown & Bigelow utilized the same mechanism design paired with different figural shaped holders to produce their shotgun shell-shaped "Sure Shot", multifunction lighter with can opener, and Standard Fruit Banana novelty lighters.
